My life

My life has changed drastically.  Where has my time gone?  When will it come back?  Why do I have 3,000 unread messages in my inbox (okay, I shouldn't exaggerate.  I have 1,442.)  Why can't I catch up on laundry?  Where is YouthfulGrace all the readers wonder?  She is piled up under dirty diapers.  Except now, I have fewer diapers because ID is potty-trained!!!  We're still working on having no accidents in teh pull-ups, but he hasn't pooped in a diaper in over a week!! Yay!!  I am so happy.  Happiness in my life now revolves around pooping and peeing.  Sigh... Life is good.  I have two beautiful children and no time, but that's okay.  I'd take the children again anyday.

Happy Thankfulness...

I have much to be thankful for today... My sexy wonderful husband.  My beautiful energetic son.  My tiny precious daughter!  YAY!  She finally arrived!  For those of you who might not have known, we welcomed our little girl--Ruth Azusa--into the world November 4, 2007.  She is doing well and is just so very precious!  I love having a girl...She is truly my little rose (even though we didn't name her Rose, we really think that speaks something about her identity, Schoolofmom...)

I guess I should share the info on her name...

Ruth means “friend”

—Ruth was a faithful friend to Naomi and as she symbolizes friendship with Israel so we want our Ruth to live as a friend of Israel.

—Ruth lay all night at the feet of her kinsman- redeemer Boaz. This is a picture of the Bride of Christ ministering all night at the feet of her kinsman-redeemer, Jesus. Just as Boaz took Ruth as his bride, Jesus is coming back to marry a pure and spotless Bride, the Church.

—We pray that Ruth will be one to wait at Jesus’ feet and minister to Him her whole life.

—We also appreciate the heritage of this name in our families.  Two of Matthew’s great-grandmothers were named Ruth (Ruth Hull Wine and Ruth Alexander).

Azusa means “blessed miracle”

—Azusa Street in Los Angeles, CA was the site of a significant revival in 1906 that has sparked a move of the Holy Spirit in our nation.

—The word “Azusa” comes from a Native American word meaning, “blessed miracle”, and it was the name given to a young Native American girl who fasted and prayed for her people and then God used her mightily in healing.  People would say, “Go to Azusa to be healed.”

—Our prayer is that our daughter will be used by God to bring revival and healing to many.

—She is truly our “blessed miracle!”

So, today I give thanks for the sleepless nights and days because I have a precious little life...

Went for another checkup today and of course nothing has changed. But, it was exciting because the nurse practitioner happened to ask how big my last baby was.  9lbs 3oz, I said.  She looked very concerned and said, "Oh!  And we haven't scheduled you for a late ultrasound?  How do you feel about  induction?"  Well... I don't like the idea of being induced (kind of takes the natural out of the natural childbirth plan), but she did say she wanted to send me back for an ultrasound to see how big the baby was.  So, I got to see Little Girl and that was fun!  I have never seen an ultrasound this late in a pregnancy.  I could only see bits and pieces of her at a time because she is so big!  I did see her fingers and heart and her face, although not a very good view of her face.  Anyway, that was a fun surprise for today!  And, the important thing is she weighed in at a whopping 6lbs 14oz so no big worries about having to be induced right away or anything!   Just praying that she'll come soon so we don't have to face the induction question again!

Waiting...

Any day now we are expecting a little girl baby to enter our lives.  You know, the end of pregnancy is so interesting.  You know the end is coming and very close at hand, but you don't know exactly when that end is going to come.  You know it has to end (because I've never heard of a pregnancy that went on forever, but you're not sure if you might be the exception to that).  Then, you go to the doctor and he tells you that you are only 1 cm dilated and nothing really is happening.

I've been convinced that I'm just so tough this time that I've surely had contractions enough to make me 5-7cm dilated and just hadn't noticed them.  But, alas...I'm still a wimp and really don't want to think about the fact that this is all going to get very intense before it actually ends!  Oh well...better to have a reality check now and get geared up for it then to hear it from the nurse while I'm in labor ("you know, you better think about an epidural," she said, "since these contractions are just a drop in the bucket compared to what will happen after your water breaks."--just for the record, I did manage to do it without an epidural, but I had to have a serious reality check and thankfully, I had the best coach in the world--my dear husband!).  So, I'm reality checking and getting geared up for the intensity of VERY hard work...Hopefully this time it won't last 24 hours...

Waiting, waiting... The endless questions and comments... "You're still here?"  "Haven't you had that baby yet?"  "When ARE you due?"  "You're so big!"  "You look like you're going to pop!"  "You look tired."  Yes, thank you, I know.

"Those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength...they will mount up on wings like eagles.  They will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint..."  Isaiah 40.  Thank YOu, Lord, that this is true!

Proud mother thoughts

I love my son.  He really is brilliant.  Schoolofmom told me that God gives children to parents who will reflect His heart for them and that God must think my son is brilliant, too.  He has made the move to a toddler bed and is doing great!  I must say that we were very nervous about the whole thing, but so far so good!  He is totally cute and loves his new big boy bed and his big boy room.  He hasn't gotten out of the bed without permission except for in the middle of the night when he was crying and we went in to check to find him standing in the middle of the room not really awake.  I think he slid his way out and ended up on his feet by accident.  He seemed very baffled as to why he was out of his bed.

We watched him "pray" the other night into the stick thingee attached to his xylophone, using it as his microphone.  He was praying the bound4life prayer (Jesus, I plead your blood over my sins and the sins of my nation.  God end abortion and send revival to America) and he was praying it so fervently that we really were amazed!  The other hilarious thing was when we were driving in the car and he was saying, "Hallelujah" over and over.  Then he wanted me to sing so I was singing a praise song and after each line he would yell, "Yes!" or "Yes, Lord!"  Haha!  What a funny kid-o!  Where do you think he comes up with that stuff??
